The Merula OS (One Size) menstrual cup is a low profile cup ideal for those with a low cervix and especially those with a low cervix and a heavy flow. It has a capacity of 38 ml,  which is roughly equal to two large tampons, and is comparable to longer bullet shaped cups. The unique ladder stem can be trimmed by the rungs for a comfortable and custom fit.

From weak to strong pelvic floor muscles, the Merula Cup stays where it belongs. It can be worn in a folded up state and does not have to open completely, even strong pelvic floor muscles do not make it lose its shape.

Merula OS cups come in many fun colors and include a coordinating fashion pouch in each box.

Customer photo review of Merula OS Menstrual Cup

The Merula One Size Menstrual Cup is my Goldilocks menstrual cup. It fits my body comfortably and has a high capacity to handle my heavy flow. I can put this cup in very quickly. I use the punch down fold, rotate the cup in the right direction, and then squeeze the bottom of the cup that makes the cup pop open. I like that the stem is customizable and feels very soft to me. When I first got this cup, I folded the stem upward until I felt sure where I wanted to cut the stem. I love that this menstrual cup comes in fun colors and are made out of silicone. I’m so glad that this menstrual cup exists. Years ago, I tried the Diva Menstrual Cup, but I couldn’t get it to work for me comfortably. Now I know why, thanks to Period Nirvana. It was too long. If you are cutting off the whole stem, the cup is sliding down, or you feel the cup at entrance then give this cup a try because this cup could be a better fit for your body. I wish this cup had some type of grip on the bottom of the cup to make it easier to grab when my cervix goes higher near the end of my period. All and all, this is best menstrual cup for me. Using the Merula One Size Menstrual Cup along with a reusable bamboo or cotton velour pantyliner on my period gives me period nirvana.

I’m currently using the cup hence only the bag is in the pic ;) but here’s a little info for those who could use it: I have mild vaginal prolapse, and a pretty short cervix. This all happened after the birth of my 2nd child, before children I used a regular Diva and Lunette cup with no problems. However after my 2nd was born basically my anatomy change dramatically. And no cup would work: stay in, hold suction, be comfortable. I purchased another cup hoping it would be different and They ALWAYS poked out no matter how short I cut the stems. So, after TONS of research and taking the period nirvana quiz 3x, I decided to roll the dice again and purchase this cup Merula OS cup, it’s a DREAM!!! I did cut the ladder stem all the way to the last rung, and after a little finagling to make sure my cervix was inside the cup, it is amazing, it works for me! I am beyond happy to have found the type of cup that works for my new body. For reference I am 38, 125 lbs and active. My pelvic floor is weak and I have leftover bladder and rectocele prolapse from child birth. If you have ANY issues with the traditional V shaped cups, I encourage you to try this one! If you are a heavy bleeder, then order the XL version as it will hold more liquid. FYI. Good luck!!!

It’s not the easiest cup when it comes to insertion because this cup is not easy to open, but with practice it can be done without much hassle. Once this cup is in, it’s the most leak free cup ever! My cervix moves up and down throughout my period but generally it’s low to average. As you can see I have cut the loops to the last one, that’s the most comfortable for me and I’ve never had problem grabbing it and taking it out. For myself cup suction never bothered me, but the strong suction of this particular cup might be a problem to some people.

My goldilocks cup!! I've tried so many discs (discs just don't stay behind my pubic bone and i've tried all sizes and rim firmness) and cups (too long or slips down easily). This cup is short enough for me and stays put. I can use it on my heaviest and and lightest day. It doesn't slow down my urine stream and doesn't put much pressure on my bladder. I can definitely forget that its there. It does take a little bit of fiddling to get it to open fully but unless its a small and firm cup, I have to do that with all cups.

I got the orange and it a beautiful color it at first I couldn’t get it to open with the punch down fold then I tried a little lube on the side I was doing the fold and it worked perfectly only thing I have noticed is I don’t get if in high enough it hard to use the bathroom with it in but one I figured out that part too I fell in love with this cup I have a lower cervix but was still able to leave all of the ladder attached and it doesn’t bother me

I've been a diva cup user for 12 years prior to having babies, I'm no stranger to how it goes. However, post-partum literally nothing worked. I tried other sizes of Diva, Saalt, Discs, you name it. Everything either leaked, did not insert properly, or constantly fell down. Every period was anguish, I felt like a teenager again resenting my body. THIS CUP IS AMAZING. It stays in. It doesn't leak. The only drawback is getting this thing in Canada. It took me three months and a lot of bribing but I did it. For those whose anatomy may be similar. Post partum my pelvic floor is both too tight near by tailbone and cannot hold tension long-term. So cups essentially get pushed out. I also have a retroverted uterus, and could never figure out how to get a disc to tuck. Merula solves all those issues because it is both short and wide, you can trim the tail, or wear it inside out. I prefer with the tail though because it does tend to spin (no leakage though).

I found PN in you tube and very much appreciate the education you provide! It helped me understand what cup could work better for me and give me confidence to try it out. The shopping experience itself is seamless. 10/10 would recommend. Keep it up!

Merula OS

This cup was horrible to use. My last cup was unfortunately misplaced and I regret trying this brand. Customer service was friendly and I understand the non-returnable nature of this item, but I dislike that now I’ve sunk $40 into something I can’t use and they will not refund me. Do not buy.

Merula OS

Need to give more tries, but the first try the suction was so intense it gave me extremely bad cramps and I had to remove it.

Merula OS Menstrual Cup

I tried this cup for the first time two days ago. While having tried other cups I've never had one like this with the rounded ball shape. I found that the seal was really hard to break and I honestly felt as though I pulled my cervix down some trying to get this cup out. After wearing it for two days, emptying every 8 hours, the last time I went to empty it I realized my cervix was all the way down to the opening of my canal now and decided to stop using this cup for the remainder of my period. I am going to inquire with my doctor if it's actually possible to damage your cervix with a cup, because my cervix seems to be much lower now.

Merula OS Menstrual Cup

I've been a cup user for over a decade but after delivering my baby vaginally in 2023, I have a slight cetocele which was preventing me from using any cup I've had no problems using in the past. I was extremely disheartened but as a last resort decided to try the merula. Oh my god. It is PERFECT. It's the only cup that is able to be held in with my still weak pelvic floor muscles and with my prolapse. It's extremely comfortable and holds soooooo much that I can make it 12 hours no problem. I cut off all of the stem because in addition to all that other stuff, my cervix is also really low and even just one rung was uncomfortable. I just make sure I can feel where the little round bumps are where the ladder was attached to and I can remove it no problem. Very very thankful I found the merula and highly recommend!!!

Merula OS Menstrual Cup

I loved the cup it fits well and doesn’t leak at all witch I was worried bout I know I am going to use this brand and period cup for a long time thanks for making my period soooo much smoother and easier

Merula OS Menstrual Cup

It arrive just in time the last day of my period, I try it on and it was very comfortable. I didn’t feel the cup and I have try a few brands since I start using discs and cups this is so far the most comfortable one.

Merula OS Menstrual Cup

I have tried so many discs and cups. I like discs better but they just aren’t reliable enough for me. I’ve tried 6. Only one kind of works for me on my first couple days. But in the end, I’ll probably just keep one disc to use for sex and just use this the rest of the time because its the only menstrual product I can’t feel (I actually forgot about it once so now I set a reminder) has a good capacity for a cup. I just find regular cups slip down so much easier. This is worth a try for sure if you’re struggling to find something that works for you and haven’t tried this shape before.

Merula OS Menstrual Cup

I adore period nirvana and period shop, I've had wonderful experiences. My most recent cup purchase was not wonderful. I'm not a newbie, but I knew Merula OS still took some time to learn. First I couldn't get it to open, then I couldn't get it in far enough, then after trimming the stem I went too high up and I could reach it without lots of struggling. I don't have anything bad to say about the cup, but it didn't work for me. The Saalt microwave sterilizer is wonderful; effective and easy to use.

Merula OS

After having my daughter I had to replace my trusty old Diva cup because of course my anatomy has changed...but this cup ain't it. I think the shape just wasn't working for me, I couldn't get it to stay put and it was constantly sliding out. The few times I did get it to suction, it wasn't in the right position somehow and didn't catch anything...guess I have to keep looking.

Merula OS Menstrual Cup

I am a longtime Diva cup user, but I have had a hard time with it since having my baby. Long story short, my cervix is now low and I am so glad I found this cup. My diva cup works fine for night (I believe it has higher capacity than this, but I haven’t tested) but during the day it slides down/out. Because this is so short, I don’t have that problem. So far no issues with the suction, but I am used to wearing a cup.

Merula OS

Great! So glad I got your information about the HSA coverage and purchased the cup!

Merula OS

I used this cup for 3 months and totally loved it until today. I left it in longer than usual due to a busy day, not once did it leak. BUT, I got the wrist imaginable cramps, to the point where I could not move. After 10 minutes of struggling to get up and go to the toilet, I tried to remove it and could not because it suctioned my cervix inside of it! When I pinched the base to release the seal, I could feel my cervix and pinched it. At this point I was crying and heaving and considered going to the ER but after 20 minutes of squatting and slowly squeezed the base and pushing it out, it came out. My cervix is bruised and I’m still in pain in bed. I loved it but I have no idea what happened.

Merula OS

I really wanted to like this cup, but I don't think it's for me. It created a really powerful vacuum seal that ended up sucking my entire cervix and it got really painful after about 20 minutes. At first I thought I put it in wrong but after multiple tries across multiple cycles I gave up. It hurt too much. I think this has more to do with my particular anatomy though and not a fault with the cup itself, since lots of other people love it and have no issues.

Merula OS

Wow, I'm so impressed with the Merula! I've been using menstrual cups for nearly 20 years, but as I've gotten older and my body changed, the products I had been using haven't worked as well. I decided to try out Merula because others with a low cervix gave it rave reviews. I tried it out for the first time on vacation, a bit nervously, but it worked perfectly, with no leaks. It was the best suction I've ever had in a cup. It took a minute to figure out the best way to remove it - I hook a finger into the pull tab and use my thumb to punch down into the cup, which releases the suction. Comes out clean and easy, no mess. Highly recommended, especially if you have a low cervix (like others have said, I sort of tuck the pull tab up, since it's long, but I might cut it a bit for next time).

Merula OS

I love this cup! I have a low and tipped cervix and have have trouble finding a comfortable cup that is also high capacity enough to handle this heavy-flow girl. I have found my period nirvana! The more spherical versus tulip shape of this cup works so much better for me. And I love the ladder stem. I can easily tuck it up and then then on removal it's easy to break the seal and then pull the ladder for removal. NO pokey stem!! It is also the most mess-free cup I've ever used. Do I have a need for more than one of these? No. One is plenty. Am I going to order another in a fun color anyway? You bet I am!

Merula OS

I found this cup by researching why my other cups kept sagging down. I realized I have a low cervix and probably a weakened pelvic floor after two kids. I’ve used the saalt cup in both sizes and the lunette in the bigger size and all three would drop down to almost coming out of me most times I used them. And I tried for a year. I am thrilled to report that the Merula cup has worked perfectly since the first insertion! I also prefer the closed loop pull tab for removal over the single piece of silicone like on other brands’ cups. Worth trying if you’re experiencing menstrual cup dropping or sagging!

Merula OS

I have tried several cups over the past 8-10 years… I have had two babies and after the first I noticed my cervix was much lower. After the second it is still in that lower position and this cup is perfect. No leaks and very comfortable. I trimmed the ladder down to one rung and it works well. It has a high capacity and is fairly easy to get in position without issue. It’s the first cycle using it and I am very happy with the purchase. I recommend to anyone but especially if other cups have proven too long.

Merula OS

Using this cup was the first time I’ve ever been scared. It suctioned so hard to my cervix and hurt so bad. I’m so disappointed. Onto the next!

Merula OS

I loved this product initially but when my cervix changes mid cycle it puts pressure on my bladder. I had zero problem getting it to seal and the ladder stem was super comfortable without trimming it at all (high cervix). Quality product, looks super cool, not as firm as I thought it would be, but I think the shape when my cervix lowers just is too much for my bladder personally. The capacity is insane too! I can’t forget that. I have extremely heavy periods and it lasted the full 12 hours each and every time. Usually on my heaviest day a menstrual cup only lasts 4-5 hours.

Merula OS

I finally found my holy grail cup! This is the ONLY product I’ve tried that stays in place, doesn’t leak, can’t be felt while wearing it - total period nirvana! So happy I found this cup & will not be going back to tampons ever again :)

Merula OS

Okay…I know this is a high capacity cup or a low cervix but I didn’t expect for it to be this good! I absolutely love this cup. I cutdown some of the pull tabs and honestly forgot about a few times! I would recommend for any one looking for a low cervix, no holes, high capacity cup!

Merula OS

This cup is a learning curve for me but when it is right it holds everything SO well! I was impressed with the capacity and no leaking. But I struggle with inserting it properly so I haven’t used it a ton at this point. I love the size and the shape and the capacity It also feels like the cleanest cup I have used. Everything is so nicely contained and doesn’t spill for me when I remove it. Which I really like!

Merula OS Menstrual Cup

I really want to like this, but it’s not really working out. I’m coming from the Diva Cup, and tried this one because I found the Diva Cup a bit too tall and I kept scraping my cervix when trying to get it to open… but I just cannot get the hang of inserting the Merula. I’ve tried every method imaginable. It just won’t seem to seat correctly. I don’t know if it’s not the right shape for me, if it’s too soft, or what. I’m surprised the consensus seems to be that it’s firm, it seems much much softer than the Diva cup, which makes it very difficult to maneuver into position without it folding onto itself. This is my 2nd cycle of trying it, but unless I miraculously figure out a cheat code in the next few days I don’t think there will be a 3rd…

Merula OS

Great info on here and very helpful

Merula OS

So I really wanted to like this cup. I really love the black color and the higher capacity, but I really struggled to insert it. I’m usually really stubborn and I’m okay with using it for several periods to get right, but when I was wearing it I sneezed and it fell out. I’ve never had that experience with any other cup so I think it was the shape that didn’t work for me. I’ve been using cups for 10 years. I normally don’t give up on cups but I couldn’t get over the worry of that happening in public with no bathroom nearby. I will say that I probably need pelvic floor physical therapy after my 3 babies- so I’m sure that contributed to my bad experience.

Merula OS

It took me a minute to figure out how to place this cup since it's a different shape, but once I got the hang of it, everything has been smooth sailing. I have a low cervix so I was looking for something better than the traditional cone shape since I felt like that was always a bit much for me. I have a lighter flow but was able to place my cup in the morning and have no worries keeping it in all day until I was home and able to empty it in the comfort of my own bathroom.

Merula OS

I wanted to love this. The ladder tab made removal 1000% easier, but the firmness was maybe too much for me. I felt a lot of pressure on my pubic bone and it was very uncomfortable for me.

Merula OS

Store owner replied: Hi Julia, Thanks for sharing your feedback. The Merula OS is quite firm and so is the JuJu Model 4, another low cervix option. We don't see it here but the Hevea Loop Cup is a very soft low cervix product with a loop if you're looking for a cup that's soft for a low cervix. Or, a small diameter menstrual disc like the Ziggy A, Saalt Disc Small, or Lumma Short are also options. -Kim

I have used this cup for 2 cycles and feel like I've worked out most of the "kinks". For me, positioning it has been the hardest since I have a very low and tilted cervix. I will say I can't feel this cup at all when it fits properly. Here to add I have had 3 babies all vaginally.

Merula OS

Finally! I have been using menstrual cups for about 10 years and have always experienced leaks and trouble finding the right fit for me. I have both a short cervix and a tilted uterus. I have had 3 babies, all c-section births. I’ve tried several different brands and sized cups. I am in my 3rd cycle with my Merula OS and I think I have finally found the one! I Have a pretty heavy flow for the first couple of days and this cup has been working like a dream. Hardly any leaks at all! I do change it every 4-5 hours at the beginning of my period, but I could probably go longer with this cup, which is amazing. I use the punch down fold with the fold towards the back when inserting. Once it is positioned properly and not suctioned on my cervix (ouch!!) I feel comfortable and confident. I can’t feel it at all. So awesome!!!

Merula OS

Amazing product! Perfect for a beginner without much knowledge, needed some learning and instructions but after that I was good to go!!! It’s so much more convenient! I wish I had this when my period was so heavy I was using a tampon every hour!!
