We carry a wide range of reusable period care products - menstrual cups, menstrual discs, reusable period underwear in sizes XXS-5X, tampons, pads, and cloth pad. But we aren't just a period product store - we cater to the full cycle from before your first periods to your very last. Find postpartum care items, period pain relief products, teas, educational books, jewelry, perimenopause and menopause comfort and relief products, lubricants, greeting cards, period product cleaning and care items, stickers, pins, and gifts/accessories.

We also carry non-period items for gifting - pimple patches, Fazit patches, chocolate bars, shower steamers, and other fun items that make a perfect addition for a “first period kit.” Our store offers free kit boxes to make the perfect giftable set.

Period Nirvana hosts small events Maximum of 12 people seated) at our location in Asheville on relevant topics around menstrual and womens/afab health. You can propose a topic or event by emailing flo@periodnirvana.com.

We love groups! If you want to visit us and have a group you can visit anytime during our operating hours. You can always email flo@periodnirvana.com ahead of your visit if you need special accommodations or arrangements in advance, want to confirm our open hours with your visit, or need to request a visit for time outside of normal business hours.

Absolutely. Our online store and physical location are both trans inclusive. Online, we prioritize carrying brands who make inclusive products and use inclusive language in their materials and marketing. 

In our store, we foster a safe and inclusive environment. The store itself was designed to be welcoming to ALL with a soothing green color palette vs overly pink and feminine. Our staff will assist anyone with period care questions and we train our employees to follow your lead. We won’t ask who the products are for unless you want to provide us with that information. It is very important that everyone feel comfortable buying products from us, whether they are male or female, and whether it be for themselves, their partner, their child, or anyone else.

Cis men and Trans men are welcome inside Period Nirvana. It’s important for everyone to learn about periods and we are not policing the gender of people who want to visit us. We believe that anyone willing to enter a period store is in the right place and they are welcome.

Yes, if you visit us in person we carry period underwear and swim period bottoms in sizes Youth S/ Adult XXS up to size 3X, 4X, or 5X depending on the brand.

If you would like to try on an item in the store just ask an associate and we can help. 

Of course - our store is essentially a “touch library” for menstrual products, especially reusable cups, discs, and underwear. Every item we sell has a sample out you can fold and squeeze. We also have demonstration models that a staff member can bring out if you need a lesson on how the product works. Other products such as washes and creams have demo items available to smell or try.

Inside of our store there are a few items that some parents may deem inappropriate for a certain age group but we leave that decision up to the discretion of the parent or guardian. That said, we know many parents are shopping with their child for their first period so we have intentionally created a space that feels appropriate for that purpose. Of course - we would be happy to arrange an educational visit or tour for school/summer camps/Girl or Boy Scout groups, etc. The organizer should reach out to flo@periodnirvana.com. Visits can cover types of period products or a museum tour.

Yes, our store follows ADA guidelines and is wheelchair accessible. For vans and ramp access please park behind the building where we have two handicap accessible parking spots. You will follow the sidewalk to the front entrance. The front entry door is a handle door, if you need assistance you can always call ahead of your visit. 828-412-3800.

Yes, our mini museum inside of Period Nirvana is completely free and open to all. When the store is open the museum is open. The 100 Years of Menstrual Technology exhibit is located directly in the front of the store, to the right after you walk in. 

If you’d like to support the museum you can contribute at the register or purchase a postcard online.

Parking is free and available on the street or you can park in the gravel parking lot on the opposite side of the road. For handicap parking there are two spots behind the building - access is closest to the end of the building next to Town Mountain realty. Numbered spots are reserved for their respective businesses. Spots marked as “reserved” can be used by customers if they are available.

Of course! Our store is located on Haywood Rd in West Asheville, and we are proud to be part of a very vibrant and diverse community of businesses. Within a short walk you will find incredible coffee shops, breweries, restaurants (we are in a foodie town!), shops, and a whole lot of plant stores. You can even get married down the street. A lot of our customers make a special day trip or even weekend getaway to Asheville just to visit our store (which gives us ALL of the warm fuzzies) so we made a little list of our favorite places nearby.

We receive a lot of product pitches and unfortunately, we can't bring in every item even when it's a good fit. That said, we love adding new items when they are a good fit and can fit into our budget.

No, we are retailers. If you are interested in selling any items we carry in your own store you will need to contact that business or artist directly for wholesale information.

Period Nirvana directs our donations to a local period pantry located in Asheville, NC. At this time we are not able to support any additional agencies or charities.

No, our items are reusable and therefore we cannot send sample products. There are several wonderful period non-profits and many of them have reusable items to distribute. Look for a local period charity or visit period.org

If you teach first period classes in schools or privately, or if you are a health care provider, we can send examples of reusable period products for your demonstrations when supplies are available. We do our best to accommodate requests. email flo@periodnirvana.com.
